About our wedding

Our wedding will take place in Brookline, Massachusetts at the Alden Castle on September 24th, 2022. You can find helpful information about accommodations, things to do, and a timeline using this website. Due to limited venue space, we are unable to extend the invitation to children under 18. While we would love to have your little ones, we hope you can use this opportunity to enjoy yourselves! If you are bringing the whole family to Boston, we recommend using Care.com to find local childcare. On the "things to do" section of this website we have included several family friendly activities. Feel free to check out those recommendations or text Amber for suggestions on fun activities!

Hotel Accommodations

We have a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn Boston Brookline that will allow you to book at a discounted price. The hotel is a 6 minute drive or 16 minute walk from the venue. Rooms within the block must be booked by 8/24/2022. You must mention you are part of the Frost/Lowe wedding block to get the discounted room rate of $279 per night.

How they met

9-23-2019

Amber and Carter met in October of 2019, through a young adult community group at their church. The two developed a friendship soon after meeting. As they got to know one another, they realized how similar they were, how much they made each other laugh, and how much they enjoyed being together. In February of 2020, Carter asked Amber to walk around Jamaica Pond with him for their first date. It was a chilly Boston evening but they took their time strolling around the pond and getting to know each other before heading to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Fourteen months later, Carter proposed where they shared their first date, in front of the boathouse at Jamaica Pond.

The Proposal

3-27-2021

On Saturday morning, Carter told Amber he would pick her up from work that evening to have dinner with Carter and his dad Gary, who was in town for a visit (Yes, this wedding will have #DoubleGary). But when Amber walked out her office that evening, her cousin Kat was standing there waiting to take her to the proposal spot. Kat and Amber pulled up to the boathouse a few minutes later, and Carter was waiting there, in the spot where they'd first gotten to know each other. During the proposal, Carter gave Amber a folded piece of paper. It was a screenshot of a message that Carter sent to a friend after chatting with Amber for a few minutes. The message read: "We have a new person joining the group who, after a little more research to confirm, will someday be my wife."
