In the world of modern love, they connected on Tinder. Two strangers who, at the time, had no idea what a silly pick-up line would turn into. Their first meeting, just as romantic, was at Cowboys where the Calgary Flames were in the first round of the Stanley Cup Play-offs. Just one week later, on May 10, 2015, they made it official after Kayla watched Nicholas play lacrosse for the first time. After being inseparable for a year, they started living together in May of 2016 and then moved into their first home in November of 2017. They knew that something was missing and decided to adopt the dog with the crazy eyes from the humane society - Molly joined the family in April of 2018 & Kayla got to live her dream of having a puppy. Fast forward 5 years, filled with laughter, camping trips, concerts, & so many memories, they decided they wanted to grow their family. In 2022, they found out they were pregnant with their first baby. If that wasn’t exciting enough on its own, in May 2022 at the gender reveal, right after finding out they were having a BOY - Nicholas (finally) proposed to Kayla. Kayla may not remember what Nicholas said, but she did know it was an instant yes. In September 2022, their lives were forever changed when they welcomed Jackson into the world. He is everything they could have ever dreamed of and more. However, their parenthood journey has been anything but ordinary. Born with medical conditions, their sweet boy has faced challenges from the start, but those challenges have only made them stronger as a couple and has proved they can do anything, as long as they have each other. From their first meeting at Cowboys to the challenges and triumphs of becoming parents, they’ve grown together in ways they never could have imagined. And now, as they approach their 10-year anniversary, on May 10, 2025, they’re excited to take the next big step—marrying the love of their life.
