After starting 6th grade at Pershing Middle School, Michael quickly noticed the same kid sat in front of him in EVERY class. As is customary, students were assigned seats in alphabetical order, like little robots, and no one could get in between the “a” and the “t” in Meador and Metzler. As a result, Michael and Richard were bound to be friends, but in reality they became the best of friends - going on 28 years now!

Elizabeth and Katherine have "been best friends since we were 5" - the common retort to "how do you guys know each other?" They met while attending St. Vincent de Paul and grew closer throughout the days of middle school sports. Their paths diverged for high school and college but that never slowed their friendship down and they have many stories to tell from over the years.
William "BJ" Johnston
Groomsman
Michael and BJ basically met while playing on the soccer field. Their City of Bellaire club, through multiple coaches over the years, kept the same core group of guys. BJ was the “cool kid” – he had the Bronco and drove the guys to the suburbs to beat up on the weaker teams every weekend in the fall. Countless numbers of fun weekends were spent at “the camp” in southeast Texas and up in San Marcos during Michael’s college years (all 6 of them).
Emily Shelton

Elizabeth and Emily ALSO met when they were just 5 years old, at St. Vincent de Paul. Being silly and constantly laughing together has kept them best friends over the years as different schools, and continents, came and went. Emily is a wonderful sounding board and confidant - one that Elizabeth feels very lucky to have!
Nolan McQuiggin

Michael and Nolan go waayyy back to THIRD grade, at Condit Elementary. They ran in the same circle of friends for years, all the way through high school. Great times were had dominating the defense on their club soccer team for the City of Bellaire. During sophomore year of high they became close friends and hung out all the time. Many a night was spent driving around Bellaire and Meyerland in his notorious white Datsun, which had properly working brakes about 25% of the time.
Daryl Tutt

Elizabeth and Daryl have known each other for 15+ years! They met at the YMCA when she worked there during high school and reconnected over drinks years later, after constantly seeing each other out and about. What ensued is a "ride or die" best friendship, frequent roaring laughter and the best memories.
JR Reuther

The one and only: James Rory Reuther. Michael and JR didn’t meet until junior year of high school when Michael finally decided to try out for the Bellaire football team. They were in the weight room on Michael’s first day on the squad when JR bumped into him and made a snide remark... Michael turned to Richard, asking “who is that jerk?” to which he responded “that’s just JR”. Who knew they would end up hanging out constantly after that exchange! There are literally countless adventures they’ve had together in the 20 years since, most of them wild.
Katie Lindenmuth

Elizabeth and Katie met at UH when Katie joined AXO in the fall of 2007. A missed opportunity to be her "Big" became a bff for life. You can usually find them sipping wine and gabbing over their love of The Bachelor/ette franchise and the My Favorite Murder podcast. Katie's son Wyatt is also in the wedding, as a ring bearer.

Michael and Joe met back at Pershing Middle School, in 6th grade P.E. class with Coach Steptoe, as two outsiders with good hands that could catch the football during scrimmages. They became close during their freshman year of college at the University of Houston where golf and beer made for good times, but bad grades.

This picture just about sums it up! After meeting when Emily joined AXO in the spring of 2006, her and Elizabeth quickly became inseparable. Although Emily moved to NYC over 10 years ago, they've stayed in touch and get together whenever each other's in town and pick up right where they left off!

Miss Nina Karam is the oldest girl of the "little cousins" on the Debo side of the family. She's in fifth grade, enjoys playing volleyball and dreams of all things sparkly!

This thoughtful little cousin of Michael's is in third grade, enjoys dancing and is obsessed with English tea. Like her sister, she can always be found having a blast with her family.

Elizabeth's "little" brother is anything but little... Clocking in at 6'3" James is quite the intelligent tower of a human, and the best brothey ever!

"Nattie," as she is affectionately called, is a bubbly and vibrant little girl. You can usually find her and her sister, Nina, playing with American Girl dolls and trying to grow up too fast!

Nobody puts baby in the corner! Evie might be the youngest of the Shelburne clan, but she is certainly not the least. This lively little girl is a firecracker and can usually be found holding her own with the older kids.
