While Angelyn’s Mom takes all the credit, we can assure you, we are sure that this was all God! (Angelyn): We were introduced at my mom’s church for a musical in October 2014. I remember him “killing” on the bass, I think he was showing out though. Lol. My sister Amethyst and I were sitting in the pews talking about how well he played when he came over and introduced his self. He was nice looking, very well mannered, looked great in a suit and that’s when I noticed his eyes. He has beautiful eyes!! I complimented him and then completely went on about my day. Lol (Kevin): Yeah she tried to play hard to get. I thought I was going to be a blessing but eventually ended up the one ultimately blessed once I laid eyes on her. Amazed by her beauty, captivated by her aura, and anxious to get to know her, the pursuit began. We ended up, months later exchanging numbers on business. We talked on the phone but she pretty much showed no interest. She had a boyfriend or someone who doesn’t matter now, so let’s fast forward to when I got her though. 🖤

(Angelyn): Lol so ok it’s June 2015. Here’s the part where I tell how my mom set me up! I was trying to get my son DuJuan a bass lesson because he was scheduled to play at my mom’s church that Sunday. She told me to call Kevin and set it up. She also said she would stay with them while they were rehearsing because 1.) it was her choir (she’s the minister of music and organist at her church) 2.) I told her I had previous plans with friends and was going out that night. Now I’m out with my mom alllll day, it’s evening now and Kevin is calling. I answer and she’s telling me to tell him to meet me at my house. So I just figure she’s going to stay there until I get back. My mom and I pull up in front of my house and she says she’s not coming in, she’s tired and needs to go home to go to bed. Beyond pissed is what I am! Now Kevin is right. He did try to talk to me before but I didn’t think he was my type. I wanted a man who went to church not a man who was the church. I ended up with both! Lol if you want to make God laugh, make a plan. So moving forward (Kevin): I’m done with the lessons and her friends are blowing up her phone. I overhear her trying to figure out how she was going to get downtown without driving her car so I offered and she been riding with me every since. The END. (Angelyn): No! Wait. Yes, I have but you have to tell how you opened the sun roof, and lit your cigar, and the moon was perfectly lit, and how great our convo was in the car and how I saw another side of you besides being a church boy. Lol I found out you were kind, protective and I saw how big your heart was in a matter of 50 minute ride. And you followed up the next day with a text of a picture of my Pepsi that I left in your car saying you were going to drink it because that’s the best line you could come up with to start the convo with me again. And how I thought it was so corny but so sweet and you still make me laugh like that 5 years later. 🖤

We have shared ups and downs, highs and lows and we went through it together. There have been times when EVERYTHING seemed to work against us and the only thing we had working for us was Love. While we both have so many flaws, we are so perfect for each other. Kevin is day, Angelyn is night. Angelyn is living on the edge, Kevin is on solid ground making sure she never falls off. But if it’s a party we turnt up together! We balance each other out and we are the only ones who can do it for each other.
