A must see sight-see! Take a drive 'Up the Boulder' to Natural Bridge - a beautiful rock formation and falls. Maria grew up in the Boulder valley- swing in at the McLeod Post Office turn off and you'll see the one-room school house she attended as a kid. Natural Bridge is located 27 miles south of Big Timber. Stay on the Main Boulder road until you arrive (you'll see the signs.) It will be on the left hand side.
Looking for a good place to stretch the legs? Dornix Park is a 50 acre recreation area on the banks of the cascading Boulder River. Visitors can walk the trails, picnic, bird watch, fish, and enjoy this beautiful natural setting. Located across from The Fort.
This recommendation isn't local, but you're in the vicinity to we thought we'd share: Beartooth Highway is a 68-mile road that runs along the border of Montana and Wyoming, connecting the towns of Red Lodge and Cooke City. The views are spectacular! Along Beartooth Highway, you will travel through several national forests, view the tallest peaks in Montana, see numerous alpine lakes, and have the option to add on short hikes to viewpoints and waterfalls. If you have kids - or a sweet tooth - be sure to check out the candy store on your way through Red Lodge.
