Our favorite trail is Far Ridge with the offshoot to Harmony Ridge. Once you reach Harmony Ridge, there is a peaceful area to set up a hammock. Watching the ducks by the Visitor's Center is also a must.
In 2023, after watching the Baltimore Raven's third string quarterback get absolutely decimated by the Cincinnati Bengals, we needed something to cheer us up. Somehow or another we stumbled across Blinkers Tavern and proceeded to have one of the best meals of our lives. Elizabeth ordered the poutine and a burger, Sam ordered the chicken alfredo. Despite the ordinary selections, we both started tearing up while eating our food. The people around us likely thought it was the first time we had ever been to a restaurant. Maybe it was the heartbreak of another Baltimore Ravens loss to the Bengals, or maybe it truly was the greatest meal of all time, but since then we have both become Blinkers Tavern evangelists.
Think Epcot as a grocery store. This location is located nearby to the hotels and one of our favorite spots for discovering new snacks.
One of our fave bookstores. They have several locations but we're partial to Covington and Newport.
A Cincinnati staple and must visit for your first time in Queen City.
Another Cincinnati staple. Elizabeth and Sam enjoy exploring all the different vendors here, especially Churchill's Fine Tea and the Empanadas Box.
We haven't visited here as adults but growing up, Elizabeth's Girl Scout Troop had a lock in/sleepover at the zoo where she got to sleep next to the manatee exhibit. Since then, the goofy sea cows have been one of her favorite animals. Something Sam knows well after Elizabeth planned a manatee kayaking adventure for them in Florida.
Don't knock it till you try it.
An awesome art museum that's FREE!
