Our love story

Her perspective

Sage and I met in a place where you would not expect to find your future husband: a bar. It was Halloween night in 2016. I was going out with my friends and I was dressed up as a Dalmatian. It was a fun night and I definitely did not expect to meet my future husband. I actually began dancing with Sage’s friends (awkward) on the dance floor at Daddio’s (Yep i met my future husband at a place called Daddio’s lol). As I was leaving, I saw Sage, dressed as Benny the Jet Rodriguez from the Sandlot. I immediately approached him and started up conversation. He was polite and fun to talk to and he actually took a tequila shot with me (he hates tequila). We left the bar and I was hungry for pizza, but all of the pizza places were closed. I knocked on the Pizza Hut door and begged for them to let me order a pizza. They said yes, but it would cost $30. 30 DOLLARS for a Pizza Hut Pizza. Sage paid for it. At that moment I knew he was something special. He didn’t judge me (or at least I don’t think so) as I stuffed pizza in my face. After that night, we pretty much spent the whole weekend together watching movies and getting to know each other better. The following week we went on our official first date at Destihl in Bloomington, IL. I remember feeling nervous, but excited. Being with Sage felt very natural. From then on, our relationship blossomed. I could tell early on that he was the one.
