Natalie and I met while we both worked at athenahealth in Ponce City Market (partially why I chose that as the engagement spot). We had casually spoken a few times, but it wasn't until we were in Boston for our Winter Sales Conference that I knew she was really interested. At the Company Party, Natalie and I locked eyes while I was on the dance floor, showing off my moves. When she approached me, her opening line was "Did you know we drive the same car?" While she denies this was her "making a move," I know the truth ;) About a year later, after talking nonstop on Slack (our company chat), I convinced Natalie to let me take her out. Turns out Italian food is the way to her heart, so the rest is history.
As far as I knew, we were going to dinner at Oak Steakhouse to celebrate Erik's 29th birthday. Earlier that day, Erik's mom suggested drinks at the Ponce City Market rooftop. When we arrived at 9 Mile Station, the rooftop restaurant, the hostess said we were the first to arrive. Erik suggested we go take a look at the view. Next thing I knew, he was down on one knee, asking if I would be his wife. Shortly after I said yes, out popped both of our families. It was such an incredible moment that I'm glad we were able to share with them. After a quick photoshoot, we all took a limo to dinner. When they pulled back the curtain, 35 of our closest friends and family were there... I was in absolute shock! Erik had flown in our closest friends and that meant the world to me. It was the most magical evening and I am still on cloud 9.
