Adam and I met at the University of Tampa in October 2016. We met during an ROTC camping trip and I thought he was a hilarious nut. That night we became best friends. Throughout the next year Adam was there for me, he would drop whatever he was doing in a heartbeat. His kind and selfless heart is what drew me in and made me want to be best friends with him forever. Adam was a catch but I had plans to stay single... I guess God didn't care for those plans. A hurricane hit Florida in September 2017 and Adams family took me to South Carolina with them to stay safe. One night there Adam and I sat, swaying on a porch swing in front of a beautiful lake. We both looked up at the stars and he said, “It is amazing that God created such a beautiful world.” We began to talk about all the wonderful things God created and how powerful and mighty He is. On our walk back to the house I thought to myself, I’m going to marry this man.
I first met Mikayla on an Army ROTC camping trip. It was the first time I got to see her smile, her laugh and her heart. After we went our separate ways when the camping trip was over, I knew that I had to see her again. She was such a joy to be around. She was comforting and calm with a hysterical sense of humor. We hung out quite often after that. I would always try to be there for her and she would always be there for me. One night I went over to her apartment where she was staying and I spent the night with her and her friends playing games, sharing laughs and making memories. I only wanted to be with one person that entire night. I couldn't take my eyes off of her and when we left, I turned to my friend and I said to him, "I am going to Marry that girl". Something we laughed about but deep down I was serious about. As they say the rest is history. Now Mikayla and I will share the happiest moment of our lives on December 27th In Alachua, Florida.
Adam and Mikayla are both officers in the United States Military. Adam graduated from Army flight school in September 2019 and is currently a Blackhawk pilot in Hawaii. Mikayla is living in Fort Rucker, Alabama and also training in Army flight school as an Apache pilot. She will graduate flight school in December before the wedding and then move to Hawaii to join Adam after over two and a half years of long distance. Adam and Mikayla are so excited to spend such a beautiful and special holiday with their family and closest friends.
