Is it safe to travel to Nicaragua?

Answer

Travel-advice resources state that the Tola region (where Hacienda Iguana is located) is considered very safe. Incidents are typically limited to petty theft, and the gated communities like Hacienda Iguana add an extra layer of security.

Do I NEED A PASSPORT?

Answer

YES! Passport will be needed to travel to Nicaragua.

How long is the commute from the Airport to our Destination in Hacienda Iguana

Answer

If you land in Managua, Nicaragua the travel time between the airport and your arrive to the community is 2 hours and 15ish minutes. If you land in Liberia, Costa Rica the travel time from Liberia to the border is 2 hours. You will then have to walk across the boarder and go through customs and walk on the Nicaragua side to a different car and have a 1.5 hour drive to Hacienda Iguana

Where are the celebrations taking place?

The welcome party and wedding ceremony and reception are taking place at a Villa called Fort Walker in the Hacienda Iguana community. If you are staying in Hacienda Iguana, it is an easy beach walk or golf cart ride from most villas.

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope you can enjoy this special day as a fun night out!

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We're so excited to celebrate this special day surrounded by our closest family and friends. As we're keeping it intimate, only those formally invited on your wedding invitation can be accommodated. If you have a plus one, it will be noted on your invitation and when you RSVP.

Do they take credit cards where we are going to be in Nicaragua?

Answer

Yes! Most places do take credit cards, although cash is the easiest form of payment and would probably be recommended if getting a massage, eating at certain places, tipping or splitting the bill. There is a ATM on site if you need more cash.

Do I need to rent a vehicle?

Answer

Once you are in Hacienda Iguana you can rent a golf cart which is the easiest form of traveling around the community. Bikes are also available for rent.

Daily Golf Cart Rental - $40/day Bicycles – beach cruiser - $10day/$50wk, simple mnt bike $15day/$70wk, pro mnt bike $25day/$120week - available at Scoops and Spokes – located in the commercial center of Iguana. Taxis and Airport Transportation- Please inquire as rates vary due to group size, distance and mode of transport (car, SUV, van or bus). Usually $100 to $160 from airport - message your property manager.
