Fly into Bangor Airport (BGR) and drive to Northeast Harbor. Car rentals are available, as well as a bus that goes to Bar Harbor, then a transfer to Northeast Harbor. The drive time is about 1 hour.

Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport (BHB)

The closest airport to Islesford is Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport (BHB). Two airlines fly from Boston Logan to Bar Harbor: Cape Air, which has a partnership with Jet Blue, and Silver Air, which has a partnership with United Airlines. You will need time to re-check your luggage between Boston Logan and Bar Harbor Airport. The drive from Bar Harbor Airport to Northeast Harbor is about 20 minutes.

The Island Explorer has a lot of routes around and into Acadia National Park. The purple route, Route 5, will take you from Northeast Harbor (NEH) up all the way to Bar Harbor and through Acadia National Park. Plus, it's free!
