Islesford has three docks: Town dock, Coop dock, and the Islesford Dock. The Town dock is where the mail ferry picks up and drops off. Just off the little parking lot for the Town dock there is a gift shop where they sell t-shirts and mugs. Coop dock is used for the lobster boats to unload. If you would like to purchase crabs or lobsters, you can walk up to the office and place an order. Islesford dock has a gallery showing local artists, a very cute gift shop worth checking out, and a pottery shop also worth stepping into. Walking along the main road is fun. You'll pass by the Ashley Bryan school, which is the island's elementary school for the ~65 year round residents. You will also pass the church (where the wedding service will be held). The stained glass windows were made by Ashley Bryan using found sea-glass. If you are not familiar with Ashley Bryan, he is a fantastic writer and artist who lives on the island. You can also visit coastguard beach and see the old lighthouse.
