We're getting married!

Louis proposed in New York on the 14th May 2023. After initially wanting to propose on a helicopter (he's scared of flying), his family finally talked some sense into him and he opted for a safer mode of transport, a private yacht. He told me that we were going on an uber boat to a fancy restaurant and to wear my best dress as it was the last night of the holiday. Me not realising Louis was on first name terms with the captain as they'd been emailing for months, I hopped on and refused the offer of champagne as I thought Ubers would charge us a fortune for drinks (lol). During sunset, the boat took us down the Hudson river and stopped right opposite the statue of liberty. The captain stopped the boat telling us we needed a photo against the skyline of New York and whilst I was smiling at the camera, Louis was fiddling about in his huge carry on bag that he'd brought on with him (I should have known) and reached for the ring. Before I knew what was happening he was down on one knee. Of course in true Louis style, the ring had popped out of the box in the scrabble to get down on one knee. I ignored that and said yes, and it was the most perfect, surreal moment. Then came the sheer panic as he realised what had happened and we searched for the ring only to find it on the floor of the boat, about in inch away from ending up the river. Even with those mishaps he managed to pull off the most unreal engagement and a moment that will stay with us forever. We're now looking forward to getting married and spending the day celebrating with our favourite people! xxxx
