We invite you to join this chapter of our love story and follow us to an enchanted garden. Indulge in the lush of a summers eve and dance with us under the full moon.
Unbeknownst to most, Cupid had to quarantine with the rest of us in 2020. Unable to fly around matchmaking as he so loves, once upon a time, Cupid got creative. Cupid scoured the San Fernando Valley for the perfect couple. When he found Andrew and Cassandra, he knew they were an obvious match; but what could Cupid do if they were quarantined? Well, he fired up his gaming PC and got to work… writing code for an app that would match two soul mates through their mutual love of Animal Crossing. Then, one fateful summers day, Cupid published the bespoke dating application, sent an Instagram ad to the #lottilove birds, and let them do the rest. Cassandra wasn't much for dating apps, but she took a chance on this one because, as an avid player of Animal Crossing, she figured it would be a great way to “meet a cute boy to play the game with” (and maybe also fall in love?) Andrew similarly resolved to give the app a shot, in spite of it’s middling reviews, apparently low user count, and seemingly impossible odds of finding a genuine gamer girlfriend through an instagram ad. Andrew did not know that our Coding Cupid had his back! That evening our two twin-stick lovebirds matched on the app, because of course they did. They’re meant for each other and the gods were determined to aid in their quest to find each other. Their first date was a visit to each other’s Animal Crossing islands while getting to know each other on the phone. After a few more virtual dates, the pair trusted each other enough to meet in person. Andrew is a musician with an unconscionable number of hobbies and the charm of a classic southern gentleman. Cassandra fluctuates seamlessly between an editorial SJW and a real-life Disney fairy princess. Beyond video games, the two bonded over their love of theory, music, books, movies, tv, various cultural interests, and well, pretty much anything else you could possibly imagine having in common with another person. The years passed, and they knew it was time to take the next step. Andrew proposed on the roof out back behind their apartment as the sun set on an autumnal afternoon beside a crescent moon covered with pink flowers, and peonies - Cassandra's favorite flower. Surprised and enthused, she said yes without a moment’s hesitation. The rest will be their history.
