With budgeting limitations, we hope you understand that at this point we are unable to accommodate any plus-ones that weren’t requested before invites were sent out. If you feel that we missed someone (like a spouse or long-term partner), feel free to let us know and we’ll do what we can! We did make sure that guests who don’t have plus-ones will know a handful of other friends invited.
While there are a couple of options for getting around Orcas without a car, it's definitely tricky; the car rental company is quite small and the local taxi is often very busy as it's just one taxi driver! So, if you are NOT bringing a car and think you will need a little help with getting around the island, please reach out to us! We are hoping to get a few volunteers from our guests who are bringing cars who are happy to do some picking-up / dropping-off on their way to activities during the weekend. If we don't get many volunteers with open seats, we will arrange a shuttle instead, so rest assured that if you are not driving onto the island, we will find a way to get you from point A to point B! If you do want to look into renting a car, Orcas Island Rental Car is located at the ferry landing. Call (360) 376-7433 to reserve ahead of time. And for the adventurous souls, Orcas is a very safe place to hitchhike. It's less common in recent years so you may not be picked up right away but it's a very sweet way to chat with locals and see the island!
Orcas is a tricky place to get around without a car and we're suspecting that we'll have a few guests coming up who are not bringing a car or cannot bring a car. If you ARE bringing a car and if you are willing to let another guest join your car, please reach out to us! This would help us out so much if a guest needs to get to the farm on the wedding day and you are able to give them a ride, or if you're heading into town and perhaps someone can catch a ride with you! We plan to make a group chat of folks who can give rides + folks who need rides. We appreciate you!
Make sure to keep an eye on the ferry schedule on WSDOT.com. The ferry schedule changes in the summer so the times displayed earlier in the year won’t have as many sailings as August, so check back as the date approaches. Walking or biking onto the inter-island ferries (for example Friday Harbor --> Orcas) is free, but if you plan to drive on then definitely book a reservation. More in-depth explanation on the 'Travel' page on how it all works!
We’ll be doing lots of flower picking, flower arranging, decorating, and general sprucing up on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Any extra hands would be greatly appreciated so let us know if you’re planning to be around and are willing to help. We love you!
As of now, yes. There will be loud music and small children attending so if your dog is chill with some chaos then it should be okay! Just let us know ahead of time so that we can get in touch with you if anything changes.
