FAQs

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We understand that a few of our guests will be traveling from out of town to join us for our special day. Our friends and family in Amsterdam are more than happy to offer you their guest room. If you would feel more comfortable staying in a hotel we recommend Basecamp Amsterdam - https://basecamp-ecoresorts.com (an 8 minute walk from the venue). Options closer to the city center are listed on our website under 'travel'. Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance or recommendations!

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

By Bus: Bus 21 from Amsterdam Central towards Geuzenveld or bus 61 from Sloterdijk Station towards Slotervaart. Get out at the stop Aalbersestraat in front of the Lidl. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to Het Rijk van de Keizer. By Car: Turn right at the T junction and follow the road (Ruys de Beerenbrouckstraat). At the end the road bends to the left (Lidl supermarket). Then turn right (Cornelis Outshoornstraat), you drive through a residential area, where the road bends to the left, you go straight ahead. On your right you will see Aristos sports hall (Tom Schreursweg). At the T junction (pasture border) turn right, this is a dead end road. On the left you will see the parking lot in the meadow where you can park for free. Continue on foot & also the Cantina entrance: From the car park, turn left and cross the cycle path. The road bends to the left and you enter the “1800 Roeden” site. After the entrance gate, turn left across the small private parking lot, there is the entrance path to our “Keizerrijk” (Empire). Cantina entrance: From the parking lot, turn left, at the cycle path do not go straight but turn left onto the cycle path. After ± 150 m you will see the bridge to our Cantina terrace on your right. There are also plenty of bicycle racks here. By Bike: There is a cycle path along the Haarlemmerweg that will take you straight to Het Rijk van de Keizer. From Halfweg, the route through De Tuinen van West runs parallel to the Haarlemmerweg.

Question

How do I get around Amsterdam?

Answer

If you don't want to rely on Uber we recommend buying a Public Transport Amsterdam Day or Multi-Day Ticket. This provides you with unlimited travel through Amsterdam – day or night – by bus, tram, and metro. It becomes valid when you first check in. You can purchase your ticket at the ticket vending machines in the metro stations. You can rent a bike near Central Station to get around but most hotels will have them available for you as well. Don't drink and drive;)
