It all started on Twitter, in May of 2012. A mutual friend tagged us both in a tweet, and Alina was intrigued by Kevin's "@mrbiscuits/R. Kelly" username. She clicked on his profile, to then discover how funny and cute he was. She followed "@mrbiscuits", and shortly after, he followed her back! We favorited and maybe retweeted some of each other's tweets, but hadn't actually exchanged words yet. A few weeks later, on a late summer night, Alina tweeted "who's down to text? :)", hoping that Kevin would take the bait. Sure enough, Kevin replied "me!", and Alina's plan worked. Phone numbers were exchanged through DM, and they talked every day since.
On August 18th, 2012, Alina invited Kevin over to her apartment to hang out. It was a Saturday, so Kevin had just gotten off work at the boat shop. Alina and her mom picked Kevin up from his house, got chili cheese dogs at the Wienerschnitzel drive thru, and headed back to her apartment. Alina was excited to see Kevin, and was too nervous to eat any chili dogs. Kevin, however, was hungry after work, and ate just fine. We hung out on the couch while watching "Kickin' it Old School" and "Forrest Gump". Then came the simple, but loaded question "What are we?". Kevin answered by saying "Well, I hope that you'll be my girlfriend", and we were officially a couple!
In January of 2025, we spontaneously booked a trip to our favorite place, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. We were having a great time, eating delicious food, gambling a lot, and soaking up the best view that Vegas has to offer. On the night of January 25th, 2025, we got ready to go to dinner at China Poblano. Kevin tucked the ring away in his pocket, and couldn't help but feel excited, knowing that he was about to finally pop the big question! We enjoyed our dinner, and everything felt normal as usual. Kevin wasn't acting weird at all, so Alina had no suspicions that he had something big planned. His initial plan was to pop the question during dinner, but he decided to pivot, so it would be easier to get pictures of the proposal, without Alina suspecting anything. After dinner we went back up to our room, and we wanted to get pictures together on our balcony since we looked fancy from going to dinner. Kevin set his phone up with video, with plans to just take screenshots from the video. Alina still had no clue what was about to happen. We posed for a couple shots, then turned to take in the view of the Vegas strip. It was then that Kevin had quoted a line from one of Alina's favorite movies, "Rocky II". He said "So... I was wondering what you're doing for the next 40 or 50 years", and Alina immediately teared up, and knew what was going on. Alina turned around to face Kevin, and he got down on one knee, finally saying the words, "Alina Seleste Castro, will you marry me?". The answer was "yes, of course I'll marry you!". We hugged and kissed with tears in both of our eyes. It was one of our best moments we've ever shared.
