We first met in our high school Spanish class during the 2009–2010 school year. Adrian was a junior, and I was a sophomore. We had assigned seats and just so happened to be placed next to each other. At first, it was just casual small talk here and there, nothing too serious. Then one day, our mutual friend let it slip that Adrian had a crush on me. After that, we started talking more, and realized we had a lot in common. He ended up asking me to his junior prom, and not long after, we officially started dating. We've been together ever since!

We got engaged on April 3, 2024, in Newport Beach, CA. Adrian had planned a weekend getaway for the two of us. I didn’t really suspect a thing until the night before where I thought maybe it could finally be happening. The day of the proposal, we spent it lounging by the resort pool. I truly had no idea what was coming. After dinner, we decided to take a walk around the resort. At one point, Adrian led us to a balcony and asked me to walk to the edge so he could take a picture of me. When I turned around, he was down on one knee. I was truly surprised. The first thing I said was "oh my god, you're doing this now!" We’ll be getting married exactly two years later—on our engagement anniversary!
