Once upon a New York time in October of 2016, the sun was setting and the lights of the 45th street marquees were shining bright as Loretta Miller made her way through the stage door alley to the Majestic Theatre for her first shift at Phantom of The Opera on Broadway as a bartender. Loretta, being Loretta, was 30 minutes early and the orchestra bar was empty. Not sure where to go, she walked behind the bar (station 4...TRC folks know) to touch up her hair and put on her blue cameo vintage earrings until someone else arrived. Looking at her own reflection, she saw him. A tall, handsome, Heath Ledger / Joseph Gordon Levitt look-a-like with slicked back jet black hair and wearing the same uniform she was, save for the little red pocket square he adorned in his left vest pocket. With her heart skipping a beat and her eyes bulging out of her head, she turned around to meet him face to face. "Hi! I'm new and supposed to be here, I promise-- but I don't know where I'm supposed to be, exactly." she blurted out. He replied, "Hey, I'm Sean. You can follow me to the office around the bar.". Honestly, she was ready to follow him to the ends of the earth if he asked her to. Suddenly certain she was going to marry this man who looked like both 10-Things I Hate About You stars, Loretta texted her friend Erin that she was "in love with Sean K" and added him on Facebook. Immediate heartbreak ensued when Erin replied, "Oh, Sean Kincaid! He is great but he has a serious girlfriend". Damn it! The long game it is then, she thought while she stared at him holding a bucket of overpriced candy. And the long game it really was. Skip to two years later and few passing moments between the pair (Sean being VERY flirty with Loretta at a certain holiday party, and Loretta joining the cast of a show just to get to know Sean...) Sean posted a vague sad boy message on Facebook in May of 2018 which gave a hint of breakup vibes. Not wasting a single second, Loretta made the long awaited move and slid into Sean's DMs to "offer her understanding and extend a listening ear over coffee sometime". Sean took her number and was open to the idea. So open, in fact, that he texted her every day for two weeks afterwards and turned coffee into a less casual drinks date starting at Off The Wagon on May 23rd 2018. Stop one went well as they both flirted over pints of Guinness so... they decided to take it to the next level that same night...and go to Marie's Crisis Cafe, a musical theatre nerd bar where they ended up sharing their first kiss after singing "Summer Lovin" to each other in the middle of a crowded room. It was truly magical. 6 years, 2 dogs, 1 pandemic, 1 cross country move, 3 apartments, 3 long distance theatre contracts, 2 full career changes, a handful of beautiful adventures, tons of personal growth together, endless laughs and an engagement later... Sean and Loretta are thrilled to be bringing their families and friends together as they say "I do" in their next act.. becoming the Kincaids!
