Things To Do

Scott and I share John Steinbeck's affinity with Montana when he said, "“I’m in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection. But with Montana it is love. And it’s difficult to analyze love when you’re in it.” We hope everyone, whether travelling from near or far, has a chance to appreciate the natural beauty of Anaconda and beyond. Below we have provided inspiration for possible activities. Please also do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have specific questions or would like more recommendations.
Anaconda Dining and Drinking

Anaconda Dining and Drinking

Various, Anaconda, MT 59711

For sit-down dining we would recommend the following restaurants/bars: Donivan's (general American fare), Barclay II (steak dinner), and The Haufbrau (for pizza) Drinking establishments you may want to check out are: Smelter Citing Brewing (Anaconda Brewery), Club Moderne (Historic Bar), The Harp (Dive Bar and our personal favorite), and Donivan's (again)

Old Works Golf Course

1205 Pizzini Way, Anaconda, MT 59711
, (406) 563-5989

From the website: "A Jack Nicklaus Signature design awaits you at Old Works Golf Course. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, the Old Works Golf Course has been reborn on the site of Anaconda's historic century old copper smelter." We are not golfers, but have heard good things.

Take a dip in the hot springs at Fairmont!

Even if you do not want to stay at Fairmont the pool is open to the public until 8:30PM. They offer a poolside bar. Fairmont also has a golf course.

Washoe Theatre

Washoe Theatre

305 Main Street, Anaconda, MT 59711

Have fun watching a movie in the last constructed Art Deco movie theater in Montana. Prices are reasonable but the movies are a little delayed. We highly recommend the popcorn!

Philipsburg

Philipsburg, MT 59858

This is the small town where Loretta lived during elementary school. While in Philipsburg you should check out the Philipsburg Brewery (http://www.philipsburgbrew.com/) and the UpNSmokin BBQ House (http://upnsmokin.com/). Philipsburg also has the Sapphire Gallery and Sweet Palace (candy store), but be warned that these are not open on Saturdays.
