For sit-down dining we would recommend the following restaurants/bars: Donivan's (general American fare), Barclay II (steak dinner), and The Haufbrau (for pizza) Drinking establishments you may want to check out are: Smelter Citing Brewing (Anaconda Brewery), Club Moderne (Historic Bar), The Harp (Dive Bar and our personal favorite), and Donivan's (again)
From the website: "A Jack Nicklaus Signature design awaits you at Old Works Golf Course. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, the Old Works Golf Course has been reborn on the site of Anaconda's historic century old copper smelter." We are not golfers, but have heard good things.
This is the small town where Loretta lived during elementary school. While in Philipsburg you should check out the Philipsburg Brewery (http://www.philipsburgbrew.com/) and the UpNSmokin BBQ House (http://upnsmokin.com/). Philipsburg also has the Sapphire Gallery and Sweet Palace (candy store), but be warned that these are not open on Saturdays.
Take a drive through the Montana countryside and into the mountains to "mine" your own sapphires.
Take the Chamber of Commerce Historic Red Bus Tour - Loretta's Parent's house is among the must-see attractions.
