Sam would say they met on a blind date. Loren would say they met through democracy. Both are somehow correct.. Loren's Perspective: Loren attended UW-Stevens Point during her undergrad at the same time as Sam. During her time, she worked for the student led organization on campus, the Women's Resource Center (WRC). At the same time, Sam was a campaign organizer for the UWSP College Democrats. The WRC staff and the College Dems worked together to put on a 'voting party' to encourage student voter participation and registration. At the event, Sam worked to quickly register as many students as possible. After some time, Sam came up to Loren and said "okay, it's your turn". Loren explained she wanted to make sure everyone else was taken care of and was okay being one of the last to go. Sam responded in a playful tone, "I'm not leaving until you're registered!". Loren was slightly surprised and taken aback at his response, but admired his confidence and let him register her to vote. She later asked a friend about "that Sam guy". She was a little sad to learn that he was dating someone at the time, but put it out of her mind. A few months later, some other mutual friends would introduce them after Sam had become single. They suggested a group hangout to play volleyball. Loren unfortunately was not blessed with athleticism or coordination. Sam came over and tried to help her with her serve (it didn't work). Good thing she's cute and he still asked her out. Sam's perspective: Sam was set up on a blind date by some mutual friends with a girl he later found out was kind of crushing on him for months (but not in a creepy way heheh). They would play group volleyball and get pizza. Sam thought Loren was faking being bad at volleyball so he would help her. He would later learn that she is really just that uncoordinated. Luckily, he thought it was charming and asked for her number anyway. They went on their first real date a few days later on May 10th, 2015. And the rest they say...
