Lorena and Greg met on a Caribbean cruise in 2018. Greg noticed Lorena as she boarded the ship, and Lorena noticed Greg on the ship later that evening. They finally made introductions while in port in the Bahamas. Their connection was instant and their time spent together on the cruise included a snorkeling excursion in Mexico. Upon return to Miami, they decided to spend the day exploring the city before Lorena returned to Phoenix on a redeye. Their first official date was at a local taco shop on the beach. Neither were ready to say goodbye and decided to meet in LA a few weeks later, visiting Hermosa, Venice, Malibu, and Santa Monica beaches and attending a Lakers game. The Lakers won – thankfully their newest team member played well (times have changed). It was on this trip that they decided to give long-distance love a shot. The running joke is that if Greg lived somewhere less interesting the connection would have ended on the ship. After over four years of cross-country flights complete with excited hellos and heart-wrenching goodbyes and weekly virtual date nights, Lorena made the big move to Florida. Now their dates are in person and they continue to learn and grow together everyday. #luckyharvey represents a combination of the bride and groom’s last names and how both feel about their upcoming wedding celebration. Whether in California, Florida, or abroad, the beach is Lorena and Greg’s special place and central to their story. They met on the beach, spend most weekends at the beach at home, Lorena starts the day with Penelope on the water, and that’s where they’ll say “I Do”. Thank you for joining the couple in celebrating their beach love story.
Greg flew to LA to surprise Lorena on her birthday weekend at a local karaoke spot. As Lorena prepared to sing her heart out, Greg hid in the crowd, turning a regular karaoke night into a proposal Lorena will never forget. Thank you for being a part of our story. See you in San Diego!
