The views from here to the town are spectacular and particularly nice at sunset. A lovely Byzantine church overlooking the sea near the windmills. Even if you only have a short time in Mykonos town, the Church of Panagia Paraportiani is highly recommended. Along with the famous row of windmills, it’s the most photographed sight in Mykonos. It’s listed as a National Monument. Michael note: This one is for the Americans that love European churches!
The Old Port is along a nice crescent shaped beach in Mykonos. Thankfully, we will be there in October and avoid the hordes of people that come here in the summer. You can stroll the beach in the early evening on your way to a restaurant overlooking the harbor. It is a picturesque area. Note: This port is NOT the new one where the cruise ships dock with a cruise ship terminal, NOR is it where the big ferries stop.

Just a few minutes drive down the hill from the villas, Elia Beach awaits you! Elia Beach is a vibrant blend of action and leisure, offering a thrilling selection of water sports activities in addition to immaculate sands for sunbathing. Elia Beach, which stretches elegantly down the shore, provides a large water play area for swimmers. There are plenty of water sports to partake in, ranging from heart-pounding jet skiing to the thrilling rush of slalom skiing. Families and groups of friends can enjoy laughter and excitement on banana boat rides, while parasailing provides an aerial view of the breathtaking coastline. Its one of the biggest and longest beaches on Mykonos Island.

This spot is on the eastern side of the island, closer to the villas than the main town.
Whitewashed church & monastery dating from the 16th century, with a grand dome & religious museum. The hanging incense holders feature silver dragons with red eggs in their mouths. The monastery also boasts a small ecclesiastical museum which includes wood carvings, embroideries, vestments, holy icons, and the first bells of the monastery. To the southeast of the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani, less than a mile away, you can find the Monastery of Paleokastro, built in the 12th century should you be looking to venture a little further to the Eastern region of the island.
In April 2017, Mykonos Brewing Company started fermenting its first batches of beer at their new, state of the art brewhouse on the island of Mykonos. With a combination of Greek malt and Belgian caramel wheat, hard to find hops, and the mythological story of the Giants on their backs, the Mikonu beer was born!
