Flight

Daniel Oduber International Airport / Liberia Airport (LIR)

This is the closest airport to Tamarindo (1 hr 15 min drive/shuttle). Economy non-stop return flights are available from LAX through Alaska Airlines and are typically $390 to $1,050 - if the price is on the high-end, it may be best to wait to book airfare and instead set a travel alert. To schedule shuttle service to and from the airport, please email Paul at booking@bluecrabtours.com and let him know you're with the Gausepohl wedding party to get the best rate. While we will have optional tropical activities all week before the wedding (starting on 4/19 for people who arrive 4/18 or later). While most people will arrive in Tamarindo on Wednesday, 4/20, we recommend arriving no later than Thursday, 4/21 so you can join us for the welcome dinner/bonfire on 4/21 and the sunset catamaran on 4/22. Most guests will choose to leave either Sunday 4/24 or Monday 4/25 (Adam & London's return flight date), but you are welcome to stay longer.

Rental Car

Sixt Rent a Car Liberia (Costa Rica) Airport

Plaza Futura
Liberia, Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica
 +506 4000 7496

This is the highest-rated rental car company. Another great option is Adobe Rent a Car. You should only ever get a 4x4 vehicle as many roads are not paved. A rental car is not required as we are providing shuttles to and from Liberia airport. Once you are in Tamarindo, it's a very walkable town. For planned activities, transportation will be included. If you are looking to explore other towns on your own, you may book a rental car.

House Or Rental

AirBNB & Other

There are some excellent AirBNB options in Tamarindo. Click the link to see what's available (make sure to change the dates according to your arrival/departure). Almost all of the options that come up in Tamarindo are walking distance to the beach and our wedding destination. If you opt to stay in Langosta (the beach just south of Tamarindo), the walk would be 15-20 minutes from the heart of Tamarindo (doable, but definitely a bit of a walk). Feel free to look at other hotels and hostels in the area on TripAdvisor, Expedia, etc. There are some great options at affordable prices.
