Where in the world do I fly into?

Answer

Venice, Italy is the closest major airport. Other major cities that you can fly into are: Zagreb, Croatia (3 hours) and Split, Croatia (4.5 hours). There is a smaller airport in Trieste, Italy as well Rijeka Airport in Croatia but flights require a layover and are expensive. Our hope is that you can fly into Europe earlier in the week to take advantage of what it has to offer. For example, Zoe will be running the Paris Marathon and Chris will be paddling and skiing.
