Akeem and I originally met as children at our parent's church. I vividly remember Akeem would always stare at me and I would think to myself, "he's staring really hard". Fast forward some years later, we crossed paths in the hallways of King Drew High School but, I ended up leaving that very same year (lol). Some time goes by and we were at a mutual friend's djing event. We noticed each other right away. When the night was over, as me and my friends were walking out, Akeem came out and asked "Hey Lola, where did you park?" The rest was history.
Let me tell you about how I got down on one knee and asked my favorite person in the world to marry me. I had known that I was ready to propose to Lola months prior to us flying to Jamaica. That weekend in April also happened to be her birthday weekend. I knew not to do it on her actual birthday; we've talked about that before and she did not want that (lol). I had the ring ready, her parent's blessings, the perfect dinner plans; the mood was set. I proposed on the 10th of April, 2021. My life changed forever that day.
