Alex and Katie are both committed to be life-long learners, so that makes the Perot Museum one of their favorite date spots!
This neighborhood hosts a variety of art galleries, boutiques, and yummy restaurants. Stop by for a bite to eat or to browse around!
The BEST pie in Texas. Katie collects the menus from this pie shop, so she and Alex go at least once every few months when the seasonal menu changes! For chocolate lovers, we recommend the Smooth Operator. Looking for something classic? Try the Lord of the Flies - Emporium Pies' version of apple pie.
The Katy Trail spans 3.5 miles from the American Airline Center in Downtown Dallas to Highland Park near SMU. It is a beautiful urban trail great for walkers, joggers, or bikers. Plenty of shade on the trail makes it an ideal spot for a morning walk, even in August. Be sure to take water! However, you can refill at the Katy Trail Icehouse, if you pass it. Directions: There are several trail entrances, one of which is at the address above. See the website for a map with more entrances.
The museum opened in 2013 and sits on the campus of Katie's alma mater, SMU.
This is where Alex and Katie went with their families after the engagement!
This vintage-inspired diner serves a yummy breakfast meal!
Via Real has a yummy mix of Tex Mex and steakhouse-type foods with a southwestern flair. Known for their margaritas and Chilean sea bass, we recommend this place for a nice dinner or lunch! They also take reservations.
