Travel Note
I would highly recommend not waiting last minute to do this. Due to COVID, passports are taking almost 3 months so do not put this off if you don't have one!
Travel Note
Check with the airline you book to see what the covid guidelines are. If there is no refund, I would definitely recommend travel insurance to play it safe!
Hotel
This is a newer hotel close to the campground/beach where our ceremony will be! Yorgo and I plan to book the bridal suite for the night of the wedding and will stay there. For those of you that book an Airbnb, this might be helpful for the night of the wedding.
Hotel
This place is a little farther from the campground but on the beach and not a bad location!
Hotel
This is in the tourist town called Gythio next to Mavrovouni where we will be getting married. If you want a place with a night life and more of a touristy feel, I would stay at this hotel or look at bnbs in gythio! Something to note though is there aren’t many taxis so if you stay in Gythio I would highly consider renting a car to get to the beaches.
Travel Note
You will want to fly to Athens as this is the closest city to Mavrovouni. We suggest you book this 6 months in advance. Hopper is a great app to track flights and get insight on when you should book to get the best price. It is a 3 hour bus ride to the village. However, you have an option of renting a car in Athens and driving to the village yourself. A car would be convenient to get around to nearby towns and cities. Something to note is, whoever is driving will need to get their international driver’s permit which you can get at AAA. You will also want to be comfortable driving in the mountains.

This is the campground where we will be getting married!
Travel Note
There are many Airbnbs and VRBOs to check out. We would recommend finding an Airbnb or VRBO in either Mavrovouni or Gythio. Reach out to us with questions if unsure about location!
Travel Note
The beach is very hot! I highly recommend bringing water shoes. Also lots of walking so bring comfortable shoes. It will be very hot in July so bring cool clothes, too! You will need a European outlet converter/adapter.
Travel Note
You will want to go to a currency exchange near you to exchange your US dollars for euros. Check your credit cards to see if they have a foreign transaction fee!
