The Parthenon
One of the most recognizable buildings in the world. You have seen many pictures of it. Take the short hike up the Acropolis and see it for yourself up close. The views at the top of the Acropolis are unbelievable. Take in the white buildings of Athens stretched as far as you can see.
Camping Meltemi (Sepsakos Campground)
Camping Meltemi is the campground that we will get married at. It has umbrella chairs, a swimming pool, a bar, a basketball court, wind surfing, delicious Greek food and more! Check out the link for more information.
Monemvasia
Monemvasia, a secret of Greece, is a medieval former fortress. It is worth the 1 hour and 15 minute drive from Gythion/Mavrovouni to visit and explore the cobblestone walkways through this enchanting town. Take the day to visit and enjoy a delicious meal or even spend a night at one of the hotels. Walking through Monemvasia is an experience you will never forget. Caves in Diros
The caves of Diros are a 40 minute drive from Gythion/Mavrovouni where you can take a canoe tour through. It is pretty unbelievable that these caves were not discovered until 1949. Several types of fossilized bones have been found in the cave, belonging to deer, hyenas, lions, panthers and even hippos! See the photos tab for more pictures of the caves.
Acropolis Museum
This one is for the history buffs or even just a curious tourist. The Acropolis Museum is consistently rated as one of the best museums in the world. See the artifacts and ancient underground site you learned about in history class in this gorgeous museum.
