We Met On Set

4/16/2022 - a double take that changed two lives til death do them part...

LOVE AT SECOND SIGHT by Logan Bartlett and Meggie Copeland Cast of Characters Logan Bartlett: A man, approaching his late 20s, quick with a smile Meggie Copeland: A woman, approaching her late 20s, a star ablaze with charisma Scene: Flora & Fawna "Never Mine" music video shoot -- a mid-century auto shop turned print shop, an emptied and sun-bleached metal car bay turned club scene NARRATOR People say lightning never strikes the same spot twice. On this day, those blue eyes of his struck twice; once at first glance, a second as they locked eyes in an extended gaze. Meggie took her seat in the round ensemble of foldable chairs where Logan sat alone for just this moment - he had been chatting with every "extra" at the video shoot, waiting for her to catch his looks. "Hey, I'm Logan. What's your name?", he said as the short silence between them lingered towards awkwardly long. "Oh hey! I'm Fig.", she said, opting to use her "professional" name, as this was a paying gig after all, and she was hired to be the tantalizing character that consumed the thoughts of the other (they would later relate over their shared fruitful names, hers chosen - Fig - and his given - Bartlett, like the pear). Fast forward 30 hours... they met again on the final shoot of the weekend in an intimate backyard pool setting with fewer distractions and a shared intention to get to know each other. Their first extended conversation was about zodiac signs - his a Gemini, hers a Cancer - because of course it was. His one moment of *suave* was to change the conversation to the best restaurants in town - "How about I take you to lunch there?" - and they quickly exchanged phone numbers. After that night, they chatted over text here and there, but the weeks passed with no plans set. She made the move to set in stone a lunch at Neighborhood Sushi, her treat. He accepted. They chatted for two blazingly fast hours with plates untouched awaiting their attention, but they only had attention for each other. They scarfed down their sushi with one foot out the door. The date was Friday, May 13th. Fast forward 46 months... love blossomed, and together they tended to the garden they had so blissfully cultivated together. A Fig, not worrying if she got the right amount of sleep. A Pear, not caring if he did the same thing every week. The two eagerly awaiting a lifetime of partnership and commitment to each other. END SCENE Friday, March 13th, 2026... we hope to see you then. 'Cause what we did one day on a whim Has slowly become all we do I never wanted any other way to spend our lives I know we promised we'd be doing this 'til we die Why don't we just say one more year?
