Commonly Asked Questions

Thank you for joining us for our special day! Below are some FAQs regarding our wedding.
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! Semi-formal attire is required. Suits, dresses, evening pantsuits and jumpsuits, and button down shirts with ties and dress pants are examples of acceptable attire. We kindly ask that guests do not wear casual attire such as t-shirts, jeans, camo, or flannel.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only event.

Question

I have a food allergy or dietary restriction. Will I be able to eat?

Answer

Please indicate any food allergies and/or dietary restrictions when you RSVP. We will work with IU Catering to accommodate any food allergies and dietary restrictions.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Most of the day will take place inside with the exception of cocktail hour, which will take place outside in the IMU Garden (weather permitting). Beck Chapel and the Tudor Room both have air conditioning, so we should be able to beat the Bloomington summer heat!

Question

Can I take pictures or record the ceremony on my phone?

Answer

We are having an unplugged ceremony and kindly ask that guests refrain from using their cell phones during the ceremony. We want everyone to be fully present during this special moment and we are happy to share a link to our professional photos when they become available.

Question

Am I required to stay at the Biddle Hotel? What other lodging options are available?

Answer

Guests are not required to stay at the Biddle Hotel in the IMU. Bloomington has many lodging options, including hotels and AirBnb. Please refer to the travel page for more information on lodging available in Bloomington.

Question

What is Indiana University's firearm policy?

Answer

Per university regulations, Indiana University does not allow firearms, including concealed weapons, to be carried on campus. To comply with this policy, we kindly ask that guests do not bring firearms into the ceremony and reception spaces.
