We swiped right on Bumble and had our first date over Zoom on March 31, 2021 in the midst of the pandemic. We bonded over having the same favorite horror movie (John Carpenter's The Thing) and our shared love of music. After braving a COVID test, we met up at Soma Coffeehouse & Juice Bar, where Kate got extremely nervous and didn't order anything. We then survived an adventurous lunch date at Runcible Spoon, during which it started pouring rain while we were eating outside. Despite a pandemic and these mishaps, we knew that we had something special.
We continued dating during our last year of grad school, enjoying a chaotic time of comprehensive exams, job applications, and music performances. A week before graduation, Kate received a job offer at the University of Wyoming, and we decided to move across the country together. During our time out west, we've been to Cheyenne Frontier Days, hiked various state parks, and even said "howdy" to a cow or two.
After three years of dating, Logan took Kate to Holliday Park in Cheyenne for a relaxing afternoon of playing frisbee. After throwing a frisbee for a while, they proceeded to a gazebo overlooking the park's pond. Logan proposed at the gazebo, and Kate said yes!
