Kyle and Dominique both attended Westmont College at the same time, lived in the same dorm, and even ran in neighboring circles (Kyle on the basketball team and Dominique on the cheer team) - yet, they didn't meet until eight years after graduation. They met when mutual Westmont friends (shoutout Ari!) encouraged Kyle to slide into Dominique's Instagram DMs (classic millennials). Kyle was living in Denver, Colorado at the time, while Dominique was still living in the Santa Barbara area. They kept in touch and a year later, when Kyle was visiting California, they went on their first date—exactly one month before Dominique was planning to move New York City. Despite the busy timing, they both knew they had found something worth pursuing. Their second date was in Denver, Colorado, and their third in Franklin, Tennessee. From there began a two-year long-distance adventure filled with hours spent on FaceTime calls and monthly flights to see each other in New York, Denver, or somewhere fun in between. Over those two years, they took a combined 86 flights (Kyle has the slight lead) and made memories all over the country, with highlights including Philly, Key West, Cape Cod, and Vermont (a favorite of the couple!). A year into dating, while walking through Central Park, Kyle made his plans known for the future. He quoted a famous line, from a favorite movie, When Harry Met Sally, "When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible" and got down to business of talking through future options of how the couple could get in the same city and start their lives together. A year later Kyle helped Dominique (and Milo!) move to Denver where they've experienced the joy of living a four minute drive apart versus a four hour plane ride. Kyle proposed to Dominique on March 7, 2026 and they spent the sweetest weekend celebrating with friends and family! Because so much of their relationship was built on meeting in the middle, Franklin felt like the perfect place to celebrate—a reflection of the adventure that brought them here. More than anything, Kyle and Dominique are deeply grateful for the way God has guided their story—from the timing of their meeting, through the endurance of long distance, to now beginning their life together. They feel incredibly blessed by the family and friends who have supported them along the way and cannot wait to celebrate with all of you.
