We met in 2018 at Corban University, where we both had general chemistry during our sophomore year. Jack thought Emily was very strange, as he remembers her whispering things to herself during exams (although Emily doesn't remember that). Emily's first impression of Jack was he was quiet and reserved--come to find out he is mostly the opposite. During our junior year, we had two major classes together--physics and organic chemistry--and it did not take long for Jack to invite Emily over for "the best hot chocolate in the city" and the chance to meet his fluffy malamute puppy. Emily was in love with Appa and Jack's hot chocolate from the start. A few months later, Jack showed his knight-in-shining-armor moment when Emily had flat tire on I-5. Only a couple months after that, it was no surprise to our fellow classmates that we began dating officially, as many of them often asked if we had something going on.
Emily began dropping hints that she wanted Jack to propose in July, which was around eight months of the couple dating. Jack scoured jewelers to find the perfect ring and seemingly came up short. Then in October, Jack decided he would make a custom ring. He bought an Opal from a friend's rock distributer and had a jeweler create a custom ring. With the ring satisfied, Jack simply needed a plan. That's when Emily told Jack that she wanted to be proposed to by the end of the year. The clock was ticking and so on Christmas Eve, Jack popped the question. Emily insists that she knew it was coming but Jack does not think so.
