One of our absolute favorite Italian restaurants! Fantastic gnocchi, shrimp scampi, fiocci di pera, lobster ravioli, and veal...but really everything is delicious!
Go for the El Presidente Churrasco for your entree and the cuatro leches for dessert. You won't be disappointed! This restaurant is also located in Bayside Harbor, which is a wonderful place to shop, drink, and sight see. Boat tours of Star Island launch from here.
ALL YOU CAN EAT STEAK! Need we say more? This Brazilian steakhouse is the best for the typical "rodizio" in all of South Florida. It is also located on the famous Las Olas Boulevard, near Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Weston, FL is where I grew up, but there are Panna restaurants throughout South Florida. This is our standard "fast" Venezuelan and Colombian food. I highly recommend a cachito con jamon y queso to start and finish with an arepa stuffed with any meats and cheeses that you would like!
Here you will find Allison's absolute favorite Venezuelan food: the empanda. She loves the empanada con carne mechada (shredded beef); however, you can also get them stuffed with queso (cheese), pollo (chicken), and other fillings. This restaurant also offers the classic arepas, tequenos (Venezuelan cheese sticks), and cachapas (Venezuelan corn pancakes with cheese). While you're at it, get some fresh mango juice!
Jaxson's ice cream parlor is nationally recognized and been on numerous TV shows featuring their "Kitchen Sink." They are an old school ice cream parlor that has been around for ages specializing in the most delicious sundaes! Be warned, most dishes should be shared!
The most famous Cuban restaurant and bakery in South Florida. I highly recommend the mojito to drink. They place real sugar cane within the glass! The croquetas, cuban sandwich, arroz con pollo, vaca frita, and guava and cheese pastries are delicious, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
Award winning mac n cheese appetizer, an amazing wagyu steak, and giant milkshakes are among some of the delicious options to eat here! There is another location in Allison's hometown, Weston. Boca's House carries predominantly Venezuelan and Colombian cuisine.
In the mood for some pizza, check out our favorite pizza place for more casual cuisine!
They specialize in cheese. Enough said. This location is closest to the wedding venue, but there are Cheese Courses throughout South Florida.
The only winery in South Florida! Definitely unique in their variety of fruit based wines, like lychee!
Great brunch restaurant! This location is close to our wedding venue; however, if you are looking for more of a beach brunch festive atmosphere, I recommend their location on Las Olas boulevard.
So this isn't a die hard foodie place, but it is on the beach that the locals frequent, has great atmosphere, and you can drink a ton of margaritas. If you want a chill beach day, away from the tourist spots, this is your place!
Caccio e peppe: pasta spun in a giant wheel of cheese...and you can add black truffles.
Known as the best place for all you can eat crab in Florida.
If you like meat and sandwiches, then this is your place! Known for the "Inside-Out Juicy Lucy" and the homemade chorizo and chimichurri sandwich.
Local South Florida brewery that started in Boca Raton, but moved to a larger location in Oakland Park. Great beer, great atmosphere!
If you are feeling like the traditional American steakhouse, this is your place.
Classic gastropub dishes with a Latin flair! Try the Brazilian coxinha, picanha steak, dulce de leche lava cake, or nutella volcano. Also, you cannot go wrong drinking here.
$15 bottomless mimosa brunch! Fantastic food and really whimsical atmosphere!
Local sports bar in Allison's hometown and Andrew's favorite lunch spot when he is on break from clinicals at Cleveland Clinic right down the road.
If you're heading to Wynwood, definitely check out this bar. It is Allison and Andrew's favorite in the area for one important reason: IT IS STAR WARS THEMED.
This is Andrew's favorite restaurant in South Florida. A small, hole in the wall, style Ecuadorian restaurant, you will find large delicious dishes at a cheap price. Our favorite is the baby churrasco, you get one long strip of churrasco steak with chimichurri sauce and two sides for under $10. Allison loves the lemonade, which is a frozen limeade. Andrew and Allison frequent this restaurant with Allison's family.
Our favorite bar in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Downtown Fort Lauderdale has a great night life, but appeals much more to the locals!
Fun latin food and dancing!
Shopping, dining, drinking, seaside, yachts, star island tours, live spanish music....you really get the full Miami vibe at Bayside Park!
Great beach for locals and tourists. Tons of seaside food and famous bars! Allison spends a girls weekend here every year while attending the Tortuga Beach Music Festival.
If you really want to do the South Florida party scene, South Beach is the famous spot. The Versace mansion is here, Lincoln Ave, and the beautiful Nikki Beach. I recommend NOT eating oceanside unless you want to spend a small fortune.
If you want to go to a fancy night Club, LIV, at the Fountain Bleu Hotel is the place.
Tons of local breweries, bars, dancing, and art. You will find art on every wall, sidewalk, and within galleries. Great bars, and you might find a block party while you are there.
Looking for really nice shopping near the wedding venue? Boca Town Center has alll the best stores!
The largest outlet mall maybe anywhere! Famous for being in the shape of an alligator when viewed from a helicopter. Not only will you find a ton of name brand outlets, but this is the place where all visiting hispanics walk around with jumbo suitcases that they fill with goodies to take back to South America. It is a fun site to watch! Allison use to sing at a now closed giant kid's playground here called Wannado City, which was a giant indoor small city where kids could dress up and pretend to hold various jobs within a town. It was honestly pretty cool, but hard to describe, so youtube it if you're curious!
