We created a Google Map with important addresses for our wedding: ceremony/reception venue, airports, hotels, things to do, and places to eat and drink.
See the Google Map we made for more information and suggestions! Local Chain Restaurants: LaRosa's Pizzeria, Skyline Chili, Goldstar Chili, Graeter's Ice Cream Cincinnati-style Chili: see "Tour of Cincinnati-style Chili" suggestion :) Local BBQ joints: Eli's Barbecue, Pontiac BBQ, and Montgomery Inn (Boathouse located on the Ohio River or Restaurant in Montgomery) Fried Chicken: The Eagle in OTR and Ron's Roost Pizza: LaRosa's (local chain), A Tavola (fancy feel), Italianette on Plainfield Road (our neighborhood pizzeria), and Dewey's (yummy local chain with interesting flavors) Breakfast: First Watch (local chain), Sleepy Bee (local chain), Apple Tree Cafe (greasy spoon by our house), and Nation's (in OTR near downtown)--- Try the Goetta, a Cincinnati Favorite breakfast meat! Megan thinks it is similar to blood sausage in consistency and a bit in flavor.
Cincinnati is known for putting a sloppy, thin, meat chili spiced with chocolate and cinnamon on spaghetti and loading it with cheddar cheese. This may sound gross, but trust us it's delicious! Megan has gotten many of her non-Cincinnati friends hooked on the stuff via Skyline Chili dip! There are many ways to have Cincinnati-style chili: 3-way (spaghetti, chili, and cheese), 4-way (spaghetti, chili, kidney beans or onions, and cheese), 5-way (spaghetti, chili, kidney beans, onions, and cheddar cheese) or just try it on a coney dog. You can get it at either of our two popular fast food chains: Skyline (Megan's favorite) or Gold Star (Brian suggests chili cheese fries from here) or at one of the many neighborhood chili parlors: Camp Washington Chili, Pleasant Ridge Chili, Blue Ash Chili, Price Hill Chili... the list goes on and on.
This is a gorgeous park in Cincinnati that is also home to the Cincinnati Art Museum, Krohn Conservatory, and some great views of the river. Megan and Brian suggest making an afternoon of it and spend some time in the park taking in the views, head to the Art Museum to take in the art, then head to the Krohn Conservatory for the fresh air and plants. Have lunch in Mt. Adams at the Bowtie Cafe (or one of the other cute restaurants) or at Gomez salsa in nearby Walnut Hills.
Welcome to the jungle! Though the Bengals won't be playing, there are tours of Paul Brown Stadium. The Cincinnati Reds are in town for the weekend of our wedding. They will be playing the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday and Sunday at Great American Ballpark. One of MLS's newest soccer clubs is FC Cincinnati. The 2019 schedule hasn't been released yet, but we suggest attending a game, if they are in town. Brian and I enjoy attending the FC games, as the crowds are fun and the team is good!
