Why are there so many chickens?

When walking around Ybor City, you might be surprised to see chickens roaming around (yes, even inside bars and restaurants!) The wild chickens that currently reside in Ybor City are direct descendants of the chickens that lived in the backyards of the neighborhoods earliest resident’s over 100 years ago. I'm confused-- Are you getting married in Ybor City or Tampa?

Great question! Ybor City is a historic neighborhood of Tampa, founded in the 1880s by immigrants from Cuba, Spain, and Italy (including Vincente Martinez-Ybor). Have you heard of "Cigar City"? Ybor's cigar industry, run by immigrants, gave Tampa this nickname.

Where should I park?

Answer

Hotel Haya offers valet parking for $30 per night. There are also many other public parking garages; Centro Ybor garage (1500 E 5th Ave, Tampa, FL 33605) and Palm garage (2010 N 13th St, Tampa, FL 33605) are both two blocks away from Hotel Haya, and prices are about $1 per hour). A closer walk, but on an uncovered lot, is the 717 Parking L45 (1732N N 15th St, Tampa, FL 33605). Pay station/pay by app rates vary.

What should I wear?

Answer

Wear cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, suits, and dark jackets and slacks. Any color will do! We want you to be comfortable above all else.
