We would like an interpretative dance performed at the "not-a-reception" for all the people to enjoy. We do not provide lighting or costumes.
Laura Jean Martino. Laura is for her grandmother Laura Walsh Kemp. Jean is for her Great Grandmother, Granny Jean Alexander. Martino is for BJ the love of her life. We are debating calling her LJ as a counterpoint to BJ for Bernard Joseph but the jury is still out as it makes her break into songs by LL Cool J. No not really, but BJ keeps hoping.
This is also our awesome chance to combine the wedding invite with a moving announcement. BJ is delighted to be marrying an efficiency expert. Our new address is 2921 Bryan Street Alexandria, VA 22302.
Absolutely. Since we aren't doing a reception, yes, yes, yes. We decided early that we wanted something family friendly that didn't require all our friends to scramble for the same babysitter. So yes, kids can come. If they are struggling through the traditional 1 hour Episcopalian wedding ceremony - St. Paul's has a cute little playground on site that you can slip out and use. After the ceremony, we'll head over to Norton Hall (again same church) for a quick toast and cake. Kid snacks available. We'll be done by 4pm latest so everyone can get home in time for dinner. All the above is true for a plus one or a kid-at-heart adult as well. And yes, Laura acknowledges that we weren't very clear when we addressed the invitations.
Think Easter Sunday redux.
This was Laura's first Cavaliers game on Feb 6, 2017 here in DC. It was pretty amazing game - https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/06/sports/basketball/lebron-james-cleveland-cavaliers-washington-wizards.html Since Laura's first baseball game with BJ also had several extra innings, she's beginning to notice a trend.
