After almost 4 years together, Nate and Liz took a trip with Matty to see family for the 4th of July weekend. In true Nate fashion, he had the whole day planned including going to St. Augustine with Steph, Brandon, and Olivia for a small family play date before meeting other family at their house for a pool party. We arrive at our play date after lunch- a tour of the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. After spending almost an hour viewing the glory of hundreds of gators and crocodiles of all kinds, we are SWEATING. The smell of the Florida rain comes in and all Liz can think about is jumping in a cold pool. Nate says "Hey lets go to the St. Augustine lighthouse!", to which Liz replied, "No, its so hot. Its really not that much to see... plus I've seen it before." Without missing a beat, Brandon chimes in "II want to see it too!" Steph says, "Yea it'll be cool!" Grudgingly, Liz agrees. We get to the St. Augustine lighthouse as the rain comes in. Matty, Nate and Liz are in the middle of taking a family photo on the lawn in front of the lighthouse when the moment happens... Matty sees a butterfly, runs away, and next thing Liz knows, Nate is on one knee. As he starts to give the speech of a lifetime, the lighthouse attendants say "excuse me, can you get off the lawn?!" Her coworker then shoved her saying "no wait!!" in realizing what was happening. Liz and Nate didn't notice a thing; only each other. Liz said yes and our story has continued! That night, we walked into a house full of friends and family in person and virtually. We wouldn't have changed a single thing about the proposal. Since the proposal, Matty always asks, "When does Lizzie get her LENZ?" Lizzie can't wait to get her Lenz on 10/9/2021
