Travel Note
We will not be reserving a hotel block since everyone has different needs and budgets. But Chicago has tons of hotels and AirBnb/VRBO rental options, so you can find a place that’s perfect for you! See the “Hotel” section below for a couple recommendations.
Flight
You can fly into either Chicago O’Hare (ORD) or Chicago Midway (MDW). Both airports have trains that will take you into the city, and both are easily accessible with Lyft.
Train
The cheapest way to get to the city is the train, (the “L”). Both airports have stations with self-service machines where you can buy Ventra cards, which you can load with money, or buy a day/weekend pass. Ventra cards also work on city buses. From O’Hare: take the Blue line toward Forest Park to get downtown. From Midway: take the Orange line toward the Loop to get downtown.
Travel Note
We don’t recommend renting a car if you are staying in the city. Parking can be expensive, so it is much easier to get around using public transit or Lyft. If you are driving to the wedding, the venue has parking around the corner at [Elementary School + Address]. It is about a 2-block walk to the venue from there.
Hotel
This is the closest mid-range hotel to the venue, conveniently located right off the Loyola train stop on the Red Line (L train). The Red line will take you directly downtown for tourist-y activities. From this hotel, it’s only a 5-minute drive, 13-minute bus ride, or 20-minute walk to Firehouse Chicago.
Hotel
CAA is where the bride and groom will be staying Thursday and Friday nights. If you stop by, you might catch them having a night cap in the Game Room Bar, a favorite haunt of theirs.
Hotel
The go-to stay for the groom's parents! This hotel is one of the few downtown Chicago hotels that offer free breakfast, and it’s in easy walking distance of many Chicago attractions.
