Liz and Wes are so grateful for the timing of their first date. They connected via the dating app, Bumble™, which they were both ready to let fall by the wayside. By this point, they both had their own individual stories of growth and learning. Through various cities, relationships, and adventures they’d each learned so much about themselves and what they were looking for in a partner. It was on a perfect Las Vegas evening in March 2019 that their stories merged. They found in each other a love that both excites them and brings them peace, a love they'd hoped for and were so grateful to find. Their first date was planned to be after-work drinks at a new bar in Town Square. To their delight, however, intriguing conversation and nervous excitement fueled them through drinks, appetizers, and a three-hour dinner. Their connection grew stronger over months of strenuous hikes, daring travels, and many fun dates all culminating in Alabama where they both realized they were already in love. Wes was sent there for work on a 6 week training duty and Liz visited for a blissful weekend . They spent this time discussing their future, their struggles, and all that truly mattered to them. This was where the walls came down. This was where their hearts opened up. When it came time for Wes to prepare for a new assignment, he and Liz worked together to find a place that would meet both of their goals and aspirations. Wes was able to secure an assignment in the L.A. area, and Liz took the leap and moved with him. They settled in Long Beach, and in August of 2020 Wesley proposed to Lizbeth by the ocean mere blocks from their new home. Now, Liz is completing her first year of law school and Wesley is excelling in his position supporting the US Space Force. They can’t wait to celebrate their union with their closest family and friends. A heartfelt thank you to all who've been a part of our journey and who've welcomed us to be apart of theirs.
