Question

Weather concerns

Answer

This is Colorado so there really is no way of guessing what the weather will do. Be prepared for it all: rain gear (umbrella/rain coat), light jacket, sunscreen and/or bug spray. You will be able to store any extra gear in the house if you do not want to carry it around all night.

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

All children invited are welcome, though it is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to make sure they do not get lost in the woods or walk off a cliff.

Question

I'm from the city, what can I expect?

Answer

The road to the event site is a dirt/gravel road. It is well maintained but be aware that you cannot (should not) drive the same as on pavement. The scenery is beautiful so please take your time, drive safe and and enjoy the views.

Question

How do I get to the event site from Montrose?

Answer

Drive to Montrose (if you are coming from Denver you will go through Montrose) Go south on Townsend/Hwy 50 to Ridgway. Turn right at the signal light in Ridgway onto Highway 62 Stay on Highway 62 until intersection with Highway 145; stay right heading towards Norwood. Start marking mileage, set trip to zero. Immediately after MM 87 is CR M44 or Specie Mesa Rd. You can see the bridge from the mile marker. Take a left onto CR 44. About 2.6 miles from mark. Go to 6.1 miles from mark to Peninsula Dr. and turn right. You will head up the hill, stay right at the T, 7.0 miles from mark, and drive to 8.3 miles from mark to the driveway on the right. Head through both open gates. If you need any groceries/supplies for the weekend, it is suggested you stop in Montrose.

Question

How do I get to the event site from Dolores?

Answer

If you fly into the Cortez Municipal Airport use these directions Drive to Dolores and head east on Hwy 145 toward Telluride Drive through Rico and over Lizardhead Pass to the T and the turn for Telluride. When finished head back the way you came to Hwy 145. Head west “down valley” toward Placerville or left at the T if you didn’t go to Telluride Just after Placerville you will come to another T; turn left toward Norwood Start marking mileage, set trip to zero Immediately after MM 87 is CR M44 or Specie Mesa Rd. You can see the bridge from the mile marker. Take a left onto CR 44. About 2.6 miles from mark. Go to 6.1 miles from mark to Peninsula Dr. and turn right You will head up the hill, stay right at the T, 7.0 miles from mark, and drive to 8.3 miles from mark to the driveway on the right. Head through both open gates. If you need groceries/supplies, turn right into Telluride. Clarks is on the right hand side across from the High School just after the roundabout.
