September is a beautiful time to visit Oregon, with mild weather and plenty to explore. Portland is about an hour from Estacada and offers great food, coffee, breweries, boutique shopping, and Powell’s City of Books. The Columbia River Gorge is especially scenic in early fall — visit waterfalls like Multnomah, Latourell, Wahkeena, and Bridal Veil within 45–75 minutes of town. Wine lovers can enjoy Willamette Valley, where harvest season makes for beautiful tastings and countryside views about 60–90 minutes away. If you’re up for a coastal day trip, Cannon Beach (home to Haystack Rock) is roughly 2 hours and 15 minutes from Estacada and perfect for seaside strolling. Closer to home, Estacada offers river spots, small shops, cafes, and breweries for a relaxed outing.
