Elizabeth and J met on Bumble. They both swiped right and after J conducted some Instagram research, he decided their first date would be at a Tapas restaurant in Dallas, Texas. They spent hours talking, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. The next day J called Elizabeth and left a voicemail letting her know he had a good time. At this point, Elizabeth conducted a little Instagram research herself and noticed J had been to a baseball game recently. Elizabeth waited about 24 hours to call J back and they decided their second date would be at a Texas Rangers baseball game. At the baseball game, J knew Elizabeth was a keeper because when he asked if she wanted a regular hotdog or a bacon wrapped hot dog, Elizabeth responded with J's all-time favorite "bacon". Elizabeth later admitted she was more interested in the food and drinks, but the baseball game was a great bonus. The rest, as they say, is history!
As Elizabeth and J got to know each other better, J mentioned he had never been to New Orleans. Elizabeth had been a few times as a kid, for work and to see the Gators beat up on LSU with her Dad. Elizabeth suggested they spend their first New Years Eve together in New Orleans and that they did! Their first stop was the Carousel Bar inside the Hotel Monteleone. They had drinks and then walked around the French Quarter admiring the architecture. J even had his first taste of Alligator sausage! Ever since that trip in 2017, Elizabeth and J have visited New Orleans once a year to enjoy the local food, drinks, atmosphere and each other's company in the first city they visited as a couple. On their fourth trip to New Orleans in 2020, J asked Elizabeth to marry her at the Carousel Bar! Elizabeth was shocked and excited to wear the ring passed down from her grandmother Vera who was married for over 60 years. to Elizabeth's PopPop, Donald Capece. J had more surprises in store as Elizabeth’s parents saw the entire proposal from a horse drawn carriage outside the Carousel Bar window! It was a wonderful surprise followed by a carriage ride through New Orleans and muffuletta sandwiches. We both love New Orleans for so many reasons. We can’t wait to celebrate our marriage in our favorite city and share it with you!
