Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Liza Kohler and Nate McCoy
We decided to have our wedding this time of year in the hopes that the mountains will look like this! If you're willing to get in the car and drive a little, this will hopefully be waiting for you!

Golden, CO

There is so much to do in this little town that Nate and I called home for almost 5 years. Hiking: Check out Golden Gate Canyon State Park for a little bit of leaf peeping. There are also fun trails on North Table Mountain, Apex State Park, and White Ranch State Park. Food: Our favorite restaurant in Golden was Thai Gold. There is also Sherpa House, Windy Saddle Cafe, or Table Mountain Grill and Cantina. Check out the Golden Diner for a hearty breakfast. Downtown: Make sure you spend some time strolling along Clear Creek in downtown Golden. There are also plenty of shops on Washington St.

Boulder, CO

We currently live in Boulder, CO, and if you're in the mood for a more livelier city scene than Golden, this is a fun place to spend some time. Hiking: So many trails around here! Definitely check out Chautauqua Park but do not expect to have it to yourself. Mt. Sanitas is also a classic Boulder hike if you want a bit of a challenge. Bear Peak is another butt-kicker if you want to test your lungs and legs. Food/Drinks: Check out the World Famous Dark Horse to see where Nate and I met and to get a taste of old-school Boulder. Sanitas Brewing has some great beers with a nice patio as well as the Rayback Collective. For food, we love Aloy Thai, Sushi Zanmai, and the Bohemian Biergarten. Downtown: Pearl Street is the place to go for shopping and more food options. Boulder Creek is also near by.

Leaf Peeping

Nederland: The town where Nate grew up is only a 25 min drive from Boulder and has the famous Peak to Peak highway running through it. If you want more of a scenic drive, take this road north to see some amazing foliage. You can take the Peak to Peak all the way to Rocky Mountain National Park if you want to make a day of it. Summit County: This county is a 1 hour drive from Golden but so so worth it. Check out the Dillon Resevoir, wander the streets of Breckenridge, and check out Cataract Lake for some amazing golden aspen groves. If you want a hike closer in town, The Old Dillon Reservoir has some amazing views of the lake and surrounding towns. Guanella Pass Rd: Only 45 min from Golden, this is another great option for a scenic drive through the aspens.

For all the days along the way
