The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
Yes, yes, we know this is where we are getting married. That said, if you enjoy art or museums you must make time to visit outside of our wedding. This museum has one of the best collections we have experienced and is a great place to get lost for a couple hours. Bonus: admission is free!
National WWI Museum and Memorial
Designated by Congress as the official WWI museum in the country. We have been multiple times and loved it.
Loose Park
A gorgeous park, walking distance from the Intercontinental. Great for a springtime morning walk!
Boulevard Brewing Company
We know we have beer lovers coming... this is a KC staple. We'll be serving their beers at our wedding!
J. Rieger & Co.
A classic KC distillery. We'll be serving their spirits at our wedding. Fun fact: J. Rieger & Co. was the largest mail order whiskey house in the country before Prohibition shut down operations. If you go, be sure to take the slide down from the second floor. Liza and her mom have been known to do this post-brunch.
Casual Animal Brewing Co
Another great brewery to check out. This one is in a fun neighborhood and only a quarter mile from the Hotel Indigo. It's also a 5 minute walk from our Welcome Party. Just saying.
City Barrel Brewery + Kitchen
Yet another brewery to check out. Are you sensing a trend? Absolutely must order a burger if you go.
Peanut on Main
If you're looking for a classic dive bar, this is the one.
Stock Hill
You can't go wrong here for dinner. Better yet, sit at the bar and order a martini and their triple cooked fries. We dream about these.
Noka
Need a spot for dinner? Unbelievable sushi and the coolest vibe.
Novel Restaurant
Another delicious restaurant, and just a walking distance from Hotel Indigo!
Joe's KC BBQ
It wouldn't be a proper trip to KC without BBQ, and this one is as classic as it gets.
Mildred's Food + Drink
Need an easy lunch? Mildred's has the best sandwiches. Several locations, this one is walking distance from Hotel Indigo.
Rye Plaza
A classic Mid West restaurant located in the Plaza, walking distance from the Intercontinental.
Billie's Grocery
Another great lunch spot with the BEST treats. Bonus for our GF friends: many are GF and you wouldn't even know it!
The Russell Restaurant & Catering Company
We've eaten here many times and keep coming back! Really good food, really good vibe.
Earl's Premier
A fabulous neighborhood restaurant in Brookside. While you're there, check out the cute shops along the street. Lauren Alexandria is a darling kids store.
Bacaro Primo
Great Italian in Crestwood. Liza's tip: peruse around George down the street (she could live in this store) and follow it with a glass of wine and a snack at Bacaro.
Prize Antiques
If you walk around the Plaza you must stop in here. An unbelievable and perfectly curated collection of art, furniture and collectibles.
Union Station Kansas City
