The wait was so worth it!

Love has a way of showing up where you least expect it. For us, it began at Bible Study. Adam and Lixza sat just a few seats apart, exchanging only a smile. The spark was there, but the conversation wasn’t… at least not yet. Soon after, Adam put his determination to work. With some searching, he found Lixza on social media and sent a thoughtful message. Lixza, being Lixza, wasn’t about to reply without a thorough investigation. She quickly discovered Adam’s genuine heart—his faith, devotion to family, commitment to youth, creativity in art, and even his love for movies. Impressed, Lixza finally responded, though in the most nonchalant way possible. Adam was instantly taken by their conversations. He realized he was talking to an independent, no-nonsense, passionate, and devoted mother who gave selflessly to family and friends. She was someone who showed up relentlessly for others, and, as he’ll admit, she also happened to be very easy on the eyes. A date NEEDED to happen. Their first date almost didn’t, thanks to busy schedules, but when it finally did, the stars aligned perfectly. Instead of dinner or a movie, they met at Transformation Church in North Carolina for Sunday service. The moment their eyes met, there was no denying the connection and attraction between them. What was meant to be just church turned into an eleven-hour adventure filled with laughter, conversation, and several stops along the way. Neither wanted the day to end. That evening, both felt an immense sense of happiness—Lixza smitten, and Adam certain. Since then, life together has been a beautiful blur: family trips, cooking together, Sunday worship services, movie nights, sports outings, spontaneous dates, and endless memories with their son, Jayden, and their energetic Rottweiler, Apollo. Though opposites in many ways—Adam calm, artistic, collected, and steady; Lixza fiery, passionate, energetic, and always multitasking—they balance one another perfectly. What keeps them grounded is their shared faith, love for family, and commitment to each other. Together, they’ve built a story of faith, fun, and forever. Both often reflect on how they stood firm in their values and waited for the right one—trusting God’s timing. They believe His promise of a promised land was fulfilled the day they found each other. The wait was worth it, and now they cannot wait to begin their greatest adventure yet as husband and wife.
