Payments in Hong Kong

How to pay in Hong Kong? 1) Octopus Card. We recommend you to get an “Octopus Card” at the MTR customer service kiosk at the airport (HK$50). This card will be useful to make payments for transportation, supermarkets, most major restaurants, and some food stalls. You can also top it up at any convenience store (7-11; Welcome; Circle K) or at the MRT Station. 2) Cash. You can exchange hong kong dollars before you come to Hong Kong or use your credit or debit card to withdraw hong kong dollars from any ATM (I always withdraw money from the ATM with my Visa card, it’s fast and easy (Lissa)). Cash will be useful for you to shop in all markets and cheap street food stalls scattered all over the streets. 3) Credit cards. How will the weather be like in December? Last December I visited Hong Kong (Lissa) and the temperatures were very low, between 9°-15°c, it was also windy and rainy.
