We've been asked what people should wear! Karen is absolutely wearing a fancy dress, and Matt will be in a suit. We might suggest summer preppy styles (dress pants or shorts/dressy shirt combo, or summer garden party style dress or skirt/blouse combo) but the most important thing is you feel comfortable and fabulous! There's an option to walk or shuttle between the ceremony and reception.
Admission to the metropark is FREE for our wedding guests! Tell the gate attendant you're here for the Liska-Johnston wedding. We recommend trying to arrive a little early if possible as traffic into the metropark is unpredictable. The ceremony will be outdoors near the lake. For location, see the map in your invite pocket (on the reverse of the Details card). If we move into full Alanis mode (read: rain on our wedding day), the backup plan is to hold the ceremony inside the reception venue. The reception venue is air conditioned and we will likely leave the doors open for ventilation. You'll have the option to enjoy dinner inside the reception venue, or outdoors as a picnic. Food-wise, you can expect to head to the reception venue for snacks after the ceremony; followed by cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages to be available soon after; and then dinner from our hired food truck (with options of salads, pastas, pizzas). We'll have dessert as well.
