How it all started...

January 2012

So it all started when we met through mutual friends but thought nothing of it. Then one day JJ reached out to me on Facebook just to chat. We chatted for a few days and decided to hang out. I invited him over to my house (my mom's house) to play Just Dance on my new Xbox Kinect that I got for Christmas. He did not dance and instead I danced while he just sat down laughing at me. We shared so many laughs that night and knew we wanted to continue seeing each other. From then on we were always together whether we were bowling, hanging out at each other's houses or getting froyo. We were always laughing and smiling the whole time! May 19, 2020 On this day, JJ went to prom with me for my senior year of High School. I was convinced this was the night he was going to officially ask me to be his girlfriend. The entire night went by and he did not ask (I found out later there was a reason). I had decided that the next day when I saw him I was going to tell him I no longer wanted to hang out since he still had not asked me to be his girlfriend (oh puppy love). He then asked me to go to the lake front with him to play frisbee. I agreed and he picked me up to go to the lake. At the lake, he asked me to be his girlfriend (FINALLY). 05/20/2012 The reason he did not ask at prom was because I dislike off numbers and he wanted to wait until the 20th so the date would be an even number (such a sweetie).

The Proposal

05/20/2017

Welp, I think we were all waiting for this moment! We were getting ready for our five year anniversary dinner. We went to dinner at Fox and Hounds with Juan's Uncle Roger and his wife Carina. Shortly after we arrived, my mom and step dad arrived as well as Juan's cousin Yvy and her husband Alex. I knew something was up. We sat down and ate dinner like any other dinner date. I was patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for something to happen. Finally when we were eating dessert, Juan got out of his chair and down on one knee then asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! <3
